Do you want to work for an industry leading Company? Are you interested to know how state of the art technology can help reduce leaks in our network? What will you be doing? We use a range of traditional and up to date IT based leakage equipment and techniques to help us detect leaks in our water network, they dramatically reduce bursts and therefore minimise disruption to our customers. You too could be part of this industry leading team that is responsible for leakage detection and providing a first class service to our customers. Through a combination of classroom study, exciting on-the-job training and support from an experienced mentor and team, our 18-24 month Leakage Field Technician Apprenticeship will support you to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. “Engineering your future” We are responsible for delivering a vital water resource to over 6 million customers across the Anglian Water network and you too could be a part of a 4,500 strong workforce in this exciting and challenging industry. If you think about the people you depend on, the likelihood is that they depend on us. What will you be doing? You earn while you learn on our 3-4 year Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship scheme. The majority of your first year will be spent at a fully expensed residential college where you will meet like minded people and build your knowledge. For the remaining years, you will spend 1 week in 4 at college to reinforce your on the job learning. It takes hard work and dedication throughout your apprenticeship but you will gain a nationally recognised qualification, valuable practical skills, and guidance and support from an experienced team and mentor.   As a fully qualified and multi skilled mechanical and electrical Asset Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the equipment at our Water Treatment Works remains operational so that our customers continue to receive 1,100 million litres of drinking water per day. Whilst on the job you will also learn about all aspects of the water treatment process including the chemicals, coagulants, disinfectants and gases. Please note that after completing your first year residential college placement, you will be based at either Heigham Water Treatment Works, Norwich, NR2 4DA or Rushall Water Treatment Works, Diss, IP21 4QG. As a Surveying Apprentice you will you be on a fixed term contract.  At the end of which it would be decided if we would like to take you on permanently and progress to an Assistant level.   Entry Requirements The entry requirement for the Apprenticeship will typically be 96 UCAS points to commence at Level 6 Degree Level. JOB PURPOSE The job holder will work as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Centre pilot plant team in Unilever Research & Development Port Sunlight (located on the Wirral, close to both Liverpool and Chester), delivering high quality product innovations to support Unilever’s Home and Personal Care category innovation programmes. While doing this they will study part time at the University of Chester towards a BEng degree in chemical engineering. They will work closely with process development engineers, R&D scientists and pilot plant technicians to plan and execute pilot plant manufacturing trials to prescribed specification, hygiene and safety standards and will complete aspects of each of these roles in rotation. Tata Steel Distribution UK & Ireland (TSDUK&I) are part of Tata Steel Europe and based at the Steelpark in Wednesfield, it is the largest steel processing facility in the UK.  TSDUK&I also have facilities in Llanwern, South Wales and Lisburn in Northern Ireland.  Across the business we process all forms of strip steel products and manufacture components such as safety barriers. The role of the Steelpark Electrical Maintenance Engineers is to effectively maintain all process and auxiliary equipment within the three business units with an aim to improve the time these machines are working while reducing costs.  The Electrical Apprentices will develop the required skills and knowledge to support the operations team to perform repairs to breakdowns and taking part in preventative maintenance. They will learn how to engineer solutions to enable process improvement to contribute to the enhancement of productivity within the business. Requirements: Candidates who have, or are expected to achieve, 5 GCSE or equivalent (including English, Maths and Science) at  at Grades A* - C or level 4-9, can apply. A level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) is desirable but not essential.  We also look for people who:  Have strong communication and listening skills Are keen to learn Are enthusiastic Are reliable – with good timekeeping skills Have practical hobbies Are able to get on with others Are able to work in a team Can demonstrate leadership abilities Are interested in the engineering/manufacturing industry Can demonstrate Numerical and literacy skills to KS2 level    Electrical Apprenticeship Overview: During the apprenticeship these roles will spend a significant amount of time learning about the business. They will develop key skills and knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental practices, our products, our customers and the local IT systems. In addition to this they will learn about the Electrical  Engineering and Process Improvements- specifically the fundamentals of the discipline, Engineering materials, machine tools and Cranes and Lifting tackle. They will also become familiar with the importance of planned inspections and maintenance and process control. The duties the apprentices undertake will be geared around them learning the required skills and knowledge to become a competent Electrical craftsperson at the end of their apprenticeship. Once qualified, the role of an electrical craftsperson typically involves: Maintaining and repairing processing machinery and ancillary equipment in a safe and productive manner in order to maximise availability at optimum cost. Adhering to the preventative maintenance programmes to ensure that unplanned downtime is avoided. Through utilisation of the SHIRE system ensuring engineering spares and inventory on site are managed within budget constraints and equipment downtime is minimised. Delivering training to operators in order they are able to understand and implement basic maintenance activities facilitating optimum productivity. Procuring and managing contract resource to ensure prompt and cost effective recovery from breakdown Facilitating optimal performance by working flexibly within the team and the context of the site, undertaking maintenance at short notice. Ensuring that their own and team operations, including those undertaken on the Company's behalf by third party service providers, are conducted in manner which fully complies with Tata UK & Ireland Health & Safety, quality, environmental and corporate policies.
