Womble Bond Dickinson
Paralegal Apprenticeship
Womble Bond Dickinson Plymouth, UK
Each of our Apprentices has their own story and all come from different backgrounds but they all share one thing in common; they've loved their apprenticeship with us.  And why wouldn’t they?  They are part of an apprenticeship programme which won regional and national awards in 2016 and 2017!  They receive unparalleled support, work with excellent lawyers in an innovative team of Paralegals and are offered high quality legal work.  We were one of the first law firms to introduce the Paralegal Apprenticeship so we've learned what really works. Why are we recruiting? Our first four cohorts have successfully completed their apprenticeships and been promoted into our innovative Paralegal team to continue developing their legal careers. After a positive first year, Chloe and Ben have moved into their second year and our very newest cohort, Chloe & Abby are settling in well since starting their Paralegal Apprenticeship just this September.  They're a close bunch who support each other and enjoy mixing not just in work but outside too.  So it's easy to see why we're looking forward to welcoming a new cohort of Paralegal Apprentices to join us in September 2020 and that's where you come in. So what makes it so great to work here? Firstly, we're award winning.  We've received recognition for our apprenticeship programme in the form of two awards reassuring you that the quality of support you'll receive here is second to none.  Secondly, we've worked hard and continue to work hard, to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms.  Our culture gives us much more of a human feel, emphasising that we're more than just suits!  We like and make time for each other enabling us to establish professional relationships that often become lasting friendships. There are lots of extra-curricular activities to get involved in too; perhaps you're into charity fund raising, we love to see people keen to get involved with our responsible business strategy, so much so we'll even give you two days per year on us to get involved. Maybe organising social events or being part of a sports team is more your thing? There really is something for everyone. And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary of £16,380 you'll receive the same flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you. What will you actually be doing? You'll be supporting a high performing team of Paralegals, called the Legal Solutions Centre, in servicing our legal teams based across all of our 8 UK locations.  Concerned you may just be doing the admin?  Don't be!  You'll be expected to do all that our Paralegals do but with added supervision and guidance at the right pace for you.  You'll be allocated a Supervisor, who will help you to keep on track with your studies and a mentor, an experienced Paralegal within your team dedicated to you to learn from.  You'll experience a broad variety of quality legal training, with exposure to household named clients and cutting edge work, which will help shape the direction of your legal career whether that is as a Solicitor one day or into another area of the firm. So you're interested but still have some questions? This all sounds great but it's a big decision and you still have reservations, how can you be sure this is not just a cleverly worded advert but actually based on fact?  If you want a quick chat with me before you apply, I'd love to hear from you.  My name is Kita Watkins and you can reach me on 0117 989 6611. I'm sold, what next? If you're already sold what are you waiting for?  You can apply via the apply now button below, take your time to make a strong application, the closing date is not until 27 March 2020 so plenty of time to get it right. For a recruitment pack giving more detailed information and selection criteria of the type of individual we're looking for plus an over view of the recruitment process, please email  Careers@wbd-uk.com Through our D&I practices and programmes we work hard to ensure that difference is visibly valued and welcomed.
