This Apprentice role is an ideal opportunity for you to join Ricoh UK and train to be a Field Service Technician on a Level 3 Apprenticeship where you will support our clients and customers in your assigned region.

This role is a field based role in the Essex/London regions. You must hold a full clean driving licence as you will be required to work across the following postcodes (but not limited to these) North London N and NW (Except N1, NW1, NW8) - East London E (Except E1, E2, E3, E14) - IG, RM, SS.

It will be your job to provide customers with a professional, efficient maintenance and repair service to Ricoh customers in your assigned region.

What you'll do:

  • As a Trainee, you must successfully complete the field Service Hardware Training and complete the Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship training programme, which is 15 months in duration.
  • To provide a technical service to customers, including installation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • To manage the day to day servicing and rebuilding of customer ORU (operator replacement Units) on all customer sites.
  • To ensure customers receive a satisfactory service in line with agreed service level agreements
  • To maximise revenue by identifying potential business and professional service opportunities, whilst carrying out day-to-day duties.
  • Management and control of vehicle stock, to improve first time fix levels to customers, and to minimise stock losses.
  • Any parts on customer site are to be kept in good condition and listed.
  • To manage and maintain your own car stock of spare parts.
  • To update machine firmware & carry out modifications as required on all machines

What you need:

  • Good knowledge of electrical/ mechanical engineering
  • Full and clean Driving Licence – company vehicle will be provided
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Ideally have Level 2 in English & Maths
  • Have a proactive and open minded attitude
  • Must be a team player
  • Must possess the ability to demonstrate commitment and flexibility at all times
  • Excellent Interpersonal and customer handling skills
  • A desire to learn within a fast paced and varied role
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Logical and analytical thinking
