Job Description

An apprentice within the Finance Systems team would initially assist with categorising the open issues we have in our inbox. This would mainly enable us to determine where there are potential issues, either with Aderant that need to be flagged with them or where we need to provide further training to users on how to use the system correctly.

You would also carry out routine tasks related to checking the integrity of our data on a weekly and monthly basis, and also to perform regular administrative duties i.e. the updating of rates or ranks. As you develop your knowledge you would expand out into trouble shooting first tier support queries for the business and getting involved with development and enhancement projects across Finance systems and processes.

Finance Reporting

An apprentice would complete standard month end financial reporting tasks including running reports and uploading / sharing them to the relevant areas / people. You would also assist with the delivery of other standard reports such as client Management Information (to clients) and internal reporting. You would get involved in the production of firm wide management accounts and team performance reporting.

As you develop an understanding of the self-serve areas available to the business you will assist with adhoc queries guiding users to the different areas where information is readily available and on how to use those reports. Over time this would include involvement in ongoing work to improve and streamline the self-service reporting available to the team leaders and individual associates throughout the firm. 
You would also be able to assist with other adhoc report queries such as why does this person appear / not appear etc. and also setting up, amending or removing report subscriptions.

Duties to include:

Finance Systems

• Management  of routine requirements such as supporting month end close, maintenance of rates, ensuring integrity of data within the database
• Responsible for providing support and training to users of Finance Systems, both within Finance and the business as a whole 
• Documentation and script writing of test scenarios for User Acceptance testing of patches, releases and updates to Aderant Expert
• Working effectively as a Business Partner to improve Finance processes
• Responsibility for dealing with escalated 2nd line support calls from the IT Service Desk

• Chrome River (Hosted expenses system)
• Minisoft ARCS – Credit Control software
• Excel

Finance Reporting

• Management of standard reporting – producing reports and sharing them with the relevant areas of the business
• Assisting the business in obtaining the relevant financial information from self-serve areas and dealing with queries
• Involvement in production of external client specific management information
• Monitoring of an internal mailbox to produce adhoc reports and respond to business requests
• Managing subscription reports and setting up new subscriptions/ making changes as necessary
