This opportunity has evolved due to an increase in workload and will provide exposure to projects across various sectors including government, energy, and transportation projects.
When an apprentice starts with us, we pair them with an experienced member of the team who will guide and mentor them through their initial period working on live projects. Their initial role will support and assist our Technical Assistant within the ecology team on a wide variety of projects and tasks.
The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team based in the office with the potential to visit other offices as and when required. In addition good organisation and planning skills are also required to support a team which works safely and to a high technical standard. The candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills as will be dealing with surveyors and clients on project work.

This role will combine work-based on-the-job training and learning with further studies and provides an opportunity to develop skills within a supporting environment which encourages challenge and collaborative behaviours.
Applicants must be willing to progress their career after an initial probationary period to undertake a day release course at an identified Further Education College to Business Administration Level 2.
No experience is necessary but the position is ideally suited to school leavers at either GCSE or A-Level standard (or equivalent) who can demonstrate:
Interested in Wildlife or Environmental works
Ability to record data efficiently and methodically with strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and report writing skills with computer skills in MSWord, MS Excel
A hard working and highly motivated individual
Client focused with good interpersonal skills and team approach
Willing and able to visit other locations on company business (if necessary)
Able to demonstrate a commitment to continued education and improvement through participating in our approved training scheme
Minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or Scottish Standard Grade or Junior Certificate in Ireland) at level 4 above, including Mathematics & English
