As Junior Chartering Operator, your primary function is to provide administrative support to the West Africa  ship-broking team in our Aberdeen office.

This role could be ideal for a school leaver, graduate or shipping professional that is looking for an opportunity to join a fast paced Shipbroking company.

Though you should expect a varied and busy workload, your main duties will include:

  • Contract document tracking.
  • Charter hire Invoice and purchase order queries and payment expediting.
  • Cost allocation and analyses work.
  • Vessel availability and position checking.
  • Database entry and maintenance.
  • Vessel charter rate bench marking and reporting to clients.
  • Assisting shipbrokers with commercial and technical bid evaluation models (mainly data entry)
  • Maintenance and establishing document templates.
  • Assisting market analysts with collating and preparation of market data and presentations.

In addition to the duties above you will have an opportunity to assist in the development and roll-out of new IT products.  As an integral member of the team, you will be expected to contribute ideas and provide critical input to various projects. 

You will also be encouraged to learn about our commercial business and off-shore broking activities as part of your personal development. Of course, this will create opportunities for you within the organisation, which may include pursuing a career in broking at some stage in the future.
