Degree Apprenticeship IT

Job Description

What you’ll be doing

In security, we deal with up to 4,000 cyber-attacks every day. With over 5,500 global customers, our work has a real impact all around the world. BT’s award-winning apprenticeship programme offers you the opportunity to gain qualifications, hands-on experience as well as personal and professional development.  You'll help to ensure that the world continues to connect safely as we look to protect our services, governments, FTSE 500 companies, and our millions of customers.

As a Cyber Security Degree Apprentice, you’ll learn all you need to play an important part in protecting us and our customers.  Whether its learning about different attack techniques, sources of threat and how to defend against them; or understanding key concepts like security, identity and ethics and confidentiality and how they relate to each other.

You could be working in one of our Security Operation teams protecting BT, and our external customers.  Or taking on a more specialised role within our Security portfolio teams.

This Security role is in  the Global part of our business. Bring your ideas, curiosity, and ambition; help us protect and be a global force for good.

About the apprenticeship you’ll study for

In this role, you’ll study for a Level 6 apprenticeship called Cyber Security Professional (Integrated Degree). This means if you complete the course successfully, you’ll receive a degree from one of our university partners.

  • The degree course runs for three years and is a work-based learning degree.
  • You’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying. You’ll need to complete one “study work” day a week.
  • At the start of each module you’ll need to attend a module workshop, either in person or remotely, depending on the situation at that time.
