Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships have changed. IBM has changed. It’s not all about bits & bytes, cloud and cognitive. Did you know you can now become a Graduate with a degree qualification?

Apprenticeships at IBM are all about picking up skills for the workplace and embarking on a long and successful career. We have your professional development in mind from the day you join us as a permanent employee. You will get lots of exposure and an experience you simply can’t get anywhere else. In addition to the day job there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in social activities and volunteering with other Apprentices, Students and Graduates.

Salary & benefits

Apprentice Salaries start at £18,000, and our Futures Placement salaries start at £15,000, plus a £1,000 bonus.

Our benefits package is highly flexible so it can be tailored to fit your lifestyle and personal circumstances.

Requirements

Level 3 Apprenticeship: 5 GCSEs grade 5-9

Level 4 Apprenticeship: 5 GCSEs grade 5-9 and 64 UCAS points

Level 6 Apprenticeship: 5 GCSEs grade 5-9 and minimum 120 UCAS points

You might be uncertain about whether to start work, complete an apprenticeship or go to university, if that's you and you are unsure about what to do next, the IBM's Futures Scheme is for you. The Futures Scheme is our Gap Year program offering a years internship - a try before you commit scheme. We offer you an invaluable opportunity to work with a world-leading company, broadening your horizons and giving you a head start in your career. What will you do? You’ll be deployed onto a challenging work placement, where you’ll support and learn from experienced professionals from across IBM. That could be in any area across the company, we currently have Business Futures working in Recruitment, supporting Clients and working internally to make us more effective - all of which are making a difference at IBM. Then, at the end of the placement, it’s in your hands. If you would like to consider IBM as a long term career then you could apply for our Apprenticeship scheme or you could go to university - the choice is yours!  Unfortunately, you are not eligible to apply for the Futures Scheme if you are studying for or have already completed an undergraduate degree. Those eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship are eligible for this scheme.
