What you'll be doing As a Data Analyst for our Research Teams, you’ll be developing expertise in data mining, research, looking for trends in performance data and driving in depth analysis in support of the research department.  You’ll develop a detailed understanding of mobile network technologies, platforms and other emerging technologies to enable the extraction and manipulation of key data. You’ll be heavily involved in the analysis of data sets. Setting up and running experiments and tests, producing proof of concept prototypes and the analysis and interpretation of the data to aid research.  Training & support Throughout the course of your apprenticeship you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be taught job specific skills such as how to support research activities, data-driven decision making, data analysis, statistical targeting solutions.  You will learn how to identify, collect then migrate data to and from a range of internal and external systems and how these are applied to technology research. You’ll learn how to undertake research, manipulate and link different data sets and how to interpret and apply the organisation’s data and information security standards, policies and procedures to data management activities. Our Network Engineer Apprentices play a key part in ensuring our networks are designed, tested, built and maintained with fresh, new, innovative ideas in mind. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in testing the latest networking technology, upgrading the existing network and the planning, installing and running of network elements. You may also have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of mobile networks and the technologies that underpin them. This work will play a key part in supporting and maintaining high levels of stability and performance for the biggest and best mobile network in the UK. Once you’ve finished your training a wide variety of roles will be available to you within BT. Training & Support Throughout the course of your apprenticeship you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be taught job specific skills such as how to plan, design, build and test a simple network applying appropriate security products and processes. You’ll learn how to identify the key characteristics of a new network service, how to develop estimates of the expected traffic intensity and traffic load that the network must support and how to determine the minimum network capacity of planned networks to meet network requirements. You’ll have the opportunity to design, build, test, configure and optimise a distributed network including switches, routers and firewalls as well as analyse network performance and troubleshoot typical problems in networks.
