Deadline: Ongoing Salary: £16,400 Locations: Edinburgh, Glasgow The Level 6 Chartered Quantity Surveyor Apprenticeship will lead to obtaining a RICS accredited degree and RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).  Our Quantity Surveying Apprentices undertake a part time degree over the course of 5 years.    The Apprentice will work towards the RICS APC over the duration of their apprenticeship but will enrol in the penultimate year and will then take the RICS APC final assessment as their end point assessment, this will lead to achieving fully chartered surveyor status.    The role will allow you to access “on and off the job training” gaining knowledge and hands on experience of supporting our Quantity Surveying teams in their delivery of exciting projects across our sectors.   Typically a Surveying Apprentice will work 5 days per week. Typically 4 days “on the job” training and 1 day “off the job”.  The training will be delivered by blended learning including online and distance learning, supported by a Virtual Learning Environment with online tutor support as well as monthly tutor led workshops at central locations.   As a Surveying Apprentice you will you be on a fixed term contract.  At the end of which it would be decided if we would like to take you on permanently and progress to an Assistant level.   Entry Requirements:   The entry requirement for the Apprenticeship will typically be A Levels (obtaining minimum of 240 UCAS points to commence at degree level), or BTEC in Construction or property related discipline but the final decision is that of the employer and university.  Responsibilities To provide quantity surveying & cost management support in the delivery of projects and assignments. We’re building a business where you can thrive.   About our Apprenticeship Programme   Our Project Management Degree Apprentices undergo a BSc (Hons) Construction Management degree (RICS accredited).  The apprenticeship is 4.5 - 5 years.   The role will allow you to access “on and off the job training” gaining knowledge and hands on experience of supporting our Project Management teams in their delivery of exciting construction projects across our sectors.   The BSc is delivered through UCEM’s state-of-the-art online learning environment and digital library, supported with guidance from highly experienced tutors.  We allow our apprentices one day per week to study the course.   As a Project Management Apprentice you will be on a 5 year fixed term contract.  At the end of which it would be decided if we would like to take you on permanently based on successful completion of your Apprenticeship and achieving performance objectives.     Entry Requirements   The entry requirement for the Degree Apprenticeship will be 230 UCAS points made up of AS/A Levels and/or other equivalent qualifications; or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Surveying or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Construction Technical; and Grade C or above in English and Mathematics at GCSE or equivalent recognised qualifications.  Any HNCs and HNDs will be considered.      Responsibilities   To provide support in the delivery of projects and assignments. We’re building a business where you can thrive.   About our Apprenticeship Programme   Our Surveying Apprentices undergo a Level 3 Apprenticeship, gaining the RICS Associate Assessment.   A Level 3 Apprenticeships is aimed at offering a route in to work Level 3 leads to the RICS associate Learning is mostly online with monthly workshops.     Apprentices will work towards the RICS Associate assessment over the two years of their apprenticeship and will then take the RICS Associate assessment as their end of point assessment.   The role will allow you to access “on and off the job training” gaining knowledge and hands on experience of supporting our Surveying teams in their delivery of exciting projects across our sectors.   Typically a Surveying Apprentice will work 5 days per week. Typically 4 days “on the job” training and 1 day “off the job”.  Training will be delivered by blended learning including online and distance learning, supported by a Virtual Learning Environment with online tutor support as well as monthly tutor led workshops at central locations.   As a Surveying Apprentice will you be on a two year fixed term contract. At the end of which it would be decided if we would like to take you on permanently based on successful completion of your Apprenticeship and achieving performance objectives.  Upon successful completion of a Level 3 apprenticeship, there is then the opportunity to move onto a Level 6 apprenticeship.   Requirements   The entry requirement for the Apprenticeship will typically be 5 GCSEs at Grade C or higher including Maths and English or a Level 2 Apprenticeship in a construction or property related discipline but the final decision is that of the employer and college.     Apprentices who are granted entry without GCSE Grade C or higher in Maths and English will be required to achieve Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2 as part of the Apprenticeship.   To provide surveying & Cost management support in the delivery of projects and assignments. To deliver elements of surveying assignments under the supervision of more senior members of staff. To be able to take a simple brief from a more senior member of staff and act upon it. To provide all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner To provide general support to the team Meet all the assessment requirements and expectations associated with your academic course of learning. Skills & Behaviours Required An interest in construction & the built environment. Have a good head for numbers & enjoys working with IT. Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner. About our Apprenticeship Programme The Level 6 Chartered Quantity Surveyor Apprenticeship will lead to obtaining a RICS accredited degree and RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).  Our Quantity Surveying Apprentices undertake a part time degree over the course of 5 years.    The Apprentice will work towards the RICS APC over the duration of their apprenticeship but will enrol in the penultimate year and will then take the RICS APC final assessment as their end point assessment, this will lead to achieving fully chartered surveyor status.   The role will allow you to access “on and off the job training” gaining knowledge and hands on experience of supporting our Quantity Surveying teams in their delivery of exciting projects across our sectors. Typically a Surveying Apprentice will work 5 days per week. As a Surveying Apprentice you will you be on a fixed term contract.  At the end of which it would be decided if we would like to take you on permanently and progress to an Assistant level.
