Shared Legal Solutions is hosted by Wokingham Borough Council and provides legal advice and services to Wokingham and the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. This is a great opportunity to join a forward thinking practice to qualify as a solicitor on completion of the apprenticeship, avoiding the debt of full time attendance in university and post graduate study.

We require someone who is committed to a career in law, can demonstrate commitment, motivation, an understanding and a desire for public service and wants to work in a commercially aware environment within a public body. The programme is designed to enable studying part-time with The University of Law one day a week and you will gain hands-on experience of a wide range of legal work to achieve the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship, which incorporates an LLB (Hons) degree and leads to qualification as a Solicitor. All university fees will be funded by the Council. The apprenticeship will be delivered by a combination of online and face-to-face training from The University of Law, as well as on-the-job learning. Assessment for the Legal Apprenticeship includes exams, coursework and a portfolio of evidence.

Our solicitor apprentices will work in different areas of the practice over the six year period. These are career graded posts with a starting salary of £16,755 per annum rising in accordance with progression scale for Apprenticeships. You will be entitled to receive 26 days annual leave.
We are recruiting for a Legal Apprentice to start in September 2018. The deadline for applications is 11pm on 1st July 2018 and the planned interview date is 24th July 2018.
