25 Sep, 2018Degree Apprenticeship
Nestlé Academy has built its reputation as a continual innovator over a history of more than a century and a half. So for an ambitious Data Scientist Degree Apprentice, it really is the best of both worlds. A safe, secure business with which to build a successful career but, also, the kind of employer that encourages you to try new ways of doing things. That’s why we’re now looking for people who love exploring ideas. Does that sound like you? For example, have you been wondering whether to go to university or start a career instead? That bold, impressive ability to look critically at your choices is just what we want to see from the next generation of Nestlé innovators. What can you expect? This is a rare opportunity to partner with our Virtual team, as well as working closely with Swiss and European teams, on a variety of data science projects, creating analytic models and methodologies. You’ll look at future needs of the business and your work will have an impact locally, regionally and even globally. What’s more, you’ll be mentored and coached all the way to get the very best out of your Apprenticeship, with time spent in university and studying at work. Join us and you’ll: Build new – and improve existing – statistical models to analyse and predict the behaviours of the Nestlé workforce Support the European People Analytics team in mitigating people driven risks to the business Innovate, code, report and discover information hidden in vast amounts of data that will help us to make ever smarter decisions Apply data mining techniques, conduct statistical analysis and build high quality prediction systems Bring added value to the business by combining high standards, brilliant customisation and a collaborative, end-to-end approach Study towards a BSc in Data Science as part of this Level 6 Apprenticeship Who are we looking for? Innovative, creative and curious, you’ll have outstanding problem solving ability, not to mention proven skills in Maths and Computer Programming. You’ll also have an understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, along with experience of common data science toolkits, Power BI or Tableau, data visualisation and scripting. We’ll be looking for you to combine that with the ability to think on your feet and communicate well, whilst working in a team. There’s never been a better opportunity to develop your mathematics career. Applicants who hold undergraduate Data Scientist degrees are, unfortunately, ineligible to apply. We will be looking for an A Level in Maths or Psychology, plus GCSEs (actual or predicted) at grades 9 – 4 (or A*- C if received in 2017 or previous), which must include English and Maths and a minimum of 104 UCAS points (or 260 points from 2017 or previous).
